My first sting was on the palm side of my right base thumb joint. It moved down into the pam of my thumb and a little into the palm just below my middle and ring fingers. I had some stiffness, and good god the itching, but it didn't seem like the venom traveled too far.
The second sting was on my left wrist on the pinky side. It spread downward a few inches, and not up at all.
The third sting was on the side of my thumb joint on the top of my hand close to the webbing. It spread up into my thumb first and then down and into my wrist a little.
None of those were too bad. There was some swelling, and there was some itching--it took a few days to simmer down.
But the fourth sting, which I applied to my right wrist below the thumb, seems a little more vengeful than the others. My whole wrist and almost the entire underneath side of my forearm are swollen. The redness has died down, but the swelling has spread almost to my elbow. I'm thinking that it will be reduced by tomorrow, but I sure am ready for my body to start processing this venom. It's squeezing the circulation a bit too--the knuckles in my thumb, first, and middle fingers have been slightly blue all day.
I wonder if you swell outside the area that the venom comes into contact with?
Mind you, I did not do all of these at once--the first sting was about 6 days ago, the second and third sting I did together, and those were 4 days ago, and the fourth sting was yesterday. But I am wondering how many more stings it will take for my body to start recognizing the venom and processing it without swelling. I have been assured that this will happen, but when I don't know.
